Why Virat Kohli is not a successful captain in IPL: Aakash Chopra explains RCB shortcomings

Former India batsman Aakash Chopra said Virat Kohli hasn't got the support from Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team management and that is one of the reasons for his failure as captain in Indian Premier League (IPL).

Aakash Chopra, speaking in his YouTube channel, said Kohli doesn't kind the same kind of support that MS Dhoni gets from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) team management when it comes to picking players and handling the auction.

Chopra said RCB don't pick the right team and their unilateral approach to player selection has led to the downfall in not just one or two seasons but over a period of time.

RCB have never won an IPL title and under Kohli, the franchise has struggled for top 4 finishers in the last 3 seasons. While Kohli had a miraculous year with the bat, scoring 4 hundred in IPL 2016 wherein they reached the final, RCB has finished 8th, 6th and 8th in the 8-team table in the following seasons.
